There is a lot of competition for new bloggers
According to Aashna, there isn’t a lot of competition for the established bloggers because each of them is known for their own niche and is well-established within that particular niche.
However, there is a lot of competition for new bloggers. If you are new to blogging, Aashna’s advice is to be active, patient, and create content regularly. Try reflecting your personality, which is unique, in your work so that your work stands out from your competition.
While you’re just starting out, you shouldn’t expect brand associations as these take a lot of time . Instead, focus on standing out and creating an impact with your content. Keep going and the brand associations will come.

While talking to Aashna, she also revealed some fun facts about her blogging journey and how one doesn’t need a degree to become a blogger.
For Aashna, blogging started out as a hobby
She says, “Blogging starts as a hobby for most bloggers.” Aashna was studying and holding a job until she could make a living through blogging alone. She explains, “Most of us, who have more established careers in the blogging industry, have been around for a while. I know of so many people who have left their full-time job to make blogging their full-time career.”
Blogging came naturally to her because she loved reading and writing. Fashion is yet another thing that she loves. She says, “If you love something, you won’t need a particular skill to write about it. You don’t need fancy grammar or big words. You need to express what you want and believe in what you like. Blogging is very personal, it is all you.”
Aashna Shroff had no formal education in fashion when she started out
Even though several courses on blogging are available today, there were none when she started out. She says, “When I began, I had no qualifications in fashion or anything to do with blogging. Having said that, there are a lot of courses on blogging today, which is quite surprising. My college, London College of Fashion, offers several courses for aspiring bloggers. But a lot of people learn about blogging through social media social media. Experience is the best teacher!”
Through this experience, she got several insights into the fashion industry and how brands function.
A teacher who turned into a blogger
Aashna has studied Early Childhood Education. Even when she interned at EuroKids as a pre-school teacher, her heart always belonged to fashion.
She says, “After a point, teaching got very stressful and I realised this wasn’t for me. I was always inclined towards fashion. Even when I used to go to teach, I used to pick my outfits carefully. I knew that nobody apart from little kids would see me, but even then my approach to everything used to be very fashion-oriented. I took a break from teaching for a few months. And the rest, as they say, is history!”
